In 2006, Ford produced about 6.6 million automobiles, and employed about 283,000 employees at about 100 plants and facilities worldwide. In 2007, Ford had more quality awards from J.D Power than any other automaker.

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is a producer of cars and trucks. The Company and its subsidiaries also engage in other businesses, including financing vehicles. Ford operates in two sectors: Automotive and Financial Services. The Automotive sector includes the operations of Ford North America, Ford South America, Ford Europe, Premier Automotive Group, and Ford Asia Pacific and Africa/Mazda segments. The Financial Services sector includes the operations of Ford Motor Credit Company (Ford Credit), which is engaged in vehicle-related financing, leasing, and insurance. During the year ended December 31, 2006, the Company purchased Troller Veiculos Especiais LTDA (Troller), a Brazilian manufacturer of vehicles in the light-duty segment. In February 2007, the Company acquired the Lansvale Holden dealership in the western suburbs of Sydney. In February 2007, Automotive Holdings Group Limited completed the acquisition of the remaining 39.7% interest in Perth Auto Alliance (PAA), from Ford.
